13 Facts
1. English is actually my second language. My first is sarcasm.
2. I really hate summer. I don't like heat, I don't like bugs, I don't like humidity, I don't like summer. Fall is so much better. It's like summer but not absolute bullshit. You can argue that Spring is the same as Fall, but don't forget what comes after Spring.
3. If anyone even remembers the characters named Coren and Devon: They were meant for a project of sorts. It was meant to be some kind of story thing, writing maybe, but ultimately the project never went anywhere.
4. I really don't like shirts with logos or anything on them. My entire wardrobe consists of solid colour t-shirts.
5. I'm a sort of part-time drummer/consultant for the music class at my old high school. They usually call if they need me for a semester.
6. I'm an incredibly boring person. Honestly, there's nothing interesting about me. And that alone is making these facts really difficult to do.
7. I was catcalled once. I was walking home from school, it was chilly that day and I had a jacket on. I was whistled at by some guy on a bike and as soon as I turned around all I heard was "aw shit" and a guy trying to hide his face as he was riding away. Guess he wasn't into dudes.
8. When I was in Grade 7-8 I decided to start growing my hair out. It's been long ever since then. Right now as I'm writing this it's halfway down my back. I'm convinced it was the reason I was mistaken for a girl that one time.
9. I'm often mistaken for a girl on the internet. Not sure why though. Assumptions I guess. and my art style is pretty feminine? I don't know if that's even a thing but whatever.
10. My cat sleeps on me when I'm trying to sleep.
11. I play Magic the Gathering. Mostly Commander. I don't talk about MTG too much because none of the friends I talk to frequently play it.
12. My favourite cereal ever is Corn Flakes. It may sound boring to you, but I fucking love em.
13. I don't do tags.

1. What is your favorite character you've ever created (if you have any, if not then tell me a favorite character)?
OH MAN THAT'S EASY. It might be obvious, but it's Canvas. Canvas is my favourite ever just aaaaaaaAAAAAAH.
2. What is your favorite song?
Uuuh I don't really have a favourite. I have a list of songs I really like though.
They're all from video games, so I'll save myself the trouble and only list one.

Either way, it's lovely.
3. Favorite beverage?
I like root beer. It's great. I like mixing it with orange fanta sometimes. Usually to keep my mom from drinking it on me.
4. Would you prefer living in the big city or the middle of nowhere?
I lived in a big city once. It sucked. Everything is loud, there's too many people, why are people shooting off fireworks at 3 in the morning???

5. The REAL question. Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft?
Sega.
6. The REALER question. Are you a squid or a kid? Or BOTH?
Considering I'm a 23 year old human, I'm neither.
I'm definitely a human and not a squid.
There definitely isn't a squid typing.

Either Risk of Rain or The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (+Afterbirth).
8. How much do you draw in a week?
Less that I'd like to.
9. Rain or sun?
Sun is nice. But rain means I don't have to go outside.
10. If you play Smash, who do you main? If you don't then who would you want to main?
I do play smash.. periodically. I like playing Captain Falcon and Lucas, but at the moment, Yoshi is my boy.

Disgustingly bad.

Mint chocolate chip is god-tier ice cream.

Reasons Why

Every now and then I get a note asking if I do commissions. The answer I give 100% of the time is along the lines of "No, I do not. Sorry."
9 times out of 10 they'll respond with "Why not? You're really good!". I appreciate the kind words, but that won't change my mind. I DO NOT do commissions. And I never will. I have my reasons, which is what I'm sharing with you today.
I've always drawn as a way to unwind or express my feelings. Mostly because it's just something I like to do. People always tell me that I should open up some commissions. I refuse. Reason being is that I hate taking money from people. And as soon as money becomes a factor in something I enjoy doing as a hobby, it becomes not fun. I get anxious and start second guessing myself. Worrying about small things like "Is this good enough?" "Will this person like how this turned out?" "What if they don't?" "Is this worth the money they paid?" "No, this isn't good enough..". That causes me so much anxiety and headaches that I'd just want to stop. I'd not want to do it anymore. At that point, art becomes something that's not fun. And if something you enjoy is not fun, then what's the point of doing it at all?
I'm also very picky about who I do art trades with. I can't really explain why, but all I know is that if your style doesn't interest me, I'm sorry, but I'll probably not do a trade with you. There's a lot of other factors there, but I don't really want to get into that, but there's similar reasons as to why I'm picky about trades and why I don't do commissions.
A long time ago, before I was on DA, FA and whatnot, I drew quite a bit. It was fun and I liked doing it. Eventually I fell into a bout of depression and drawing felt like a pointless waste of time. After that, I didn't draw anything for over a year. I eventually got back into it. It was around the time I discovered art sites like DA. I've made some good friends ever since then and if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't be drawing today.
That's why I don't do commissions.
That's why I'm picky about trades.
I want drawing to be fun, not tedious. I'm doing everything in my power to prevent that depression from coming back.

And by that I mean I've been marathoning Bravely Default in preparation for Bravely Second and right now my 3DS is charging so I might as well do this.

1. Canvas has a huge sweet tooth. She also lacks the willpower to decline anything sweet when the opportunity presents itself. Hide your candy bowls.
2. Obviously, Canvas is very comfortable with her nudity. However she does respect that others might not be. As such she's only naked in the privacy of her own home, or where it's socially acceptable. She will never ask if it's okay to take her clothes off, also. That would be awkward for everyone involved.
3. Canvas has a brother. She doesn't talk about him much.
4. Canvas' nudity stems from her belief that you shouldn't be ashamed of who you are.
5. She also hates doing laundry. So that might have something to do with it.
6. Canvas is 21.
7. Canvas' design was mostly inspired by Amaterasu from Okami. It's a good game go play it.
